I can not view the source codes of website?

How do i overcome the un asked for security patch that prevents me from reading source codes in note pad?


I can not use note pad to open a website to look at the source code from drop down menu in the browser.


I can use note pad to open a website to look at the source but when I try to view the the source code of a website from the browser I get the errot messsage below , even off line I get a pop up box with the title" C\windows\system32\notepad.exe


The message says ..Windows cannot access the specified drive,path or file. You may not have the appropriate permision to access them"...............this has only started recently is it a windows security issue to do with XP ? Can anybody advise me..thanks. It does not happen in other peoples computers....Please advise before i go nuts

This might be the sign of a virus.





There were some malware which changed the location of Notepad.exe replacing it with thier own version of Notepad.





Get your system scanned by an antivirus.
Reply:First thing, are you trying to view a source code in a remote or local machine? Did you find the notepad.exe at C:\windows\system32\? If yes, did you able to execute it? You should. If not, then change the folder setting so that you can execute executable files.





I advice you to use Mozilla (Firefox) to view a source code better and easy without calling a text editor, you can view it in HTML formatted page which is native to all browsers.
