I can not view the source codes of website?

How do i overcome the un asked for security patch that prevents me from reading source codes in note pad?


I can not use note pad to open a website to look at the source code from drop down menu in the browser.


I can use note pad to open a website to look at the source but when I try to view the the source code of a website from the browser I get the errot messsage below , even off line I get a pop up box with the title" C\windows\system32\notepad.exe


The message says ..Windows cannot access the specified drive,path or file. You may not have the appropriate permision to access them"...............this has only started recently is it a windows security issue to do with XP ? Can anybody advise me..thanks. It does not happen in other peoples computers....Please advise before i go nuts

no it is not a security issue i can still do it from the browser dropdown menu.it may be something to do with your IE itself


try uninstalling and reinstalling IE7. see if that fixes it.


the C:\ windows\system32\notepad.exe can't be corrupt since you can access the source code via right clicking and choosing it.
Reply:Notepad is missing, has been renamed, or got deleted. It's not that you can't see the source, but the program to view it is gone ;-)
